Obey Arkitip Alife

In honor of Arkitip’s Issue No. 0051, which is a collaboration with Shepard Fairey and features a signed 7.5 x 10 inch silk screened print, alife on Cahuenga Blvd is hosting installations from June 19th to July 12th, 2009.

Shepard created new site specific installations at the gallery and in compliment, has designed a 14 x 48 ft. billboard directly above the location. You can learn more about it at Obey.

Lance Armstrong Hope Rides Again

A pretty cool installation for Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong “Hope Rides Again” campaign on Vine near Hollywood Blvd. He kicked it off with a 2.2 mile ride down Sunset Blvd with 700 cyclists. Shepard Fairey created the giant mural for the exhibition benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which will travel around the world. Fairey and other artists will be painting bikes ridden by Armstrong in both the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France.

Other artists who will be designing graphics for the bikes are Marc Newson, Yoshitomo Nara, Kenny Scharf, and Damien Hirst, as well as the Trek designers. Follow Lance on twitter.
